Description

Before I start I want to say, Photoshop is amazing! But, I have never used it to ink or colour digitally. Using it for editing is where I am at and it will probably stay like that. :3

When I was a kid, (we're talking about 3-6 years old) my new found love of cartoons and gaming opened up my mind to another world. These are the first cartoons I ever watched as a child.

:bulletpink: My Little Pony- THE original! None of this ugly flash based cheap and nasty animation, b**ch this was done by hand, no computers to do anything so I appreciate it for what it's worth. If you think it's a "Princess/Girl" driven cartoon well yeah, duh! Nothing but good manners, pretty animation and happiness as apposed to the newer version. As an artist I appreciate humor as well as the true value of art but when it comes to the new MLP and the old, I 101% will stick with the old version any day! :D

:bulletblue: Care Bears- Some thing else along side MLP I watched, this was filled with good values and taught kids how to treat each other. I am unaware of the new versions of Care Bears, although I have seen a few short runs and it was digital? Like, CG or some thing... The facial expressions scxared me and they didn't move as nice to the traditional Care Bears also done without the use of high tech flash crap but good old fashioned hard work!

:bulletred: Astro Boy- This was the first time I watched Astro Boy- 1984. My Grandfather had just bough a new TV for the family and I will tell you it was in black and white (watching the Thunder Birds as well on it which was his favorite!) For me, Astro Boy was the very first animated cartoon (or Anime as I found out later), that I ever watched in my life. This is where it started, I knew one day I would be able to draw my fave cartoons and whadda ya know! :la: haha. The Astro Boy movie (in CG) was terrible, I was expecting a full on Anime or at least to have some traditional appeal to it as some Anime movies are so beautifully done and have that special glow in their art work and even scenery..It was disappointing and I never watched it.

:bulletyellow: Sailor Moon- This was some thing I started watching and fell in love with after coming to the main land and living away from the farm, going to school and actually knowing other kids rather than having goat kids as friends :XD: lol. Sailor Moon was an awesome Cartoon/Anime. The reason to waking up early mornings before school and sitting in front of the TV and watching Agro's Cartoon Connection. (Australian free to air TV show). The first time I saw Anne-Marie (the co-host of Agro's Cartoon Connection, I never knew how much of a dumb ass she was lol). Anyway, Sailor Moon was packed of the right stuff for me. I loved it and thus it also started me getting interested in Anime.

All of these cartoons/Anime's have had an impact to me as a child. Growing up and finding I could draw them later was one of the greatest achievements of my life time. I gained friends and enemies from this though, but also learned a great deal about how to actually draw in motion instead of just letting the characters stand and have no expressions.

I do believe if one day we do have kids of our own I know for a fact they will be introduced to these before they even dare watch anyt of the newer stuff. As I believe these are wholesome, educational and truly heart warming works of art that add that little warmth to the heart instead of cheap, nasty mind rotting cartoons these days. These are just my opinions, I have a great sense of humor after all! ;D But I am a little fussy when it comes to good stuf when it involves cartoons.

:pencil: Done with COPIC, BIC and Prisma markers, pens. Crayola pencils for shading/lighting.
 Special thanks to my man Didz and Photoshop CS6!! ^_^

Enjoy! :]
